On 1 April 2020, we were informed by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) that the "the QRL suspension of Community Rugby League games and training has been extended until 1 June 2020".
Click here to read the full statement issued by the QRL.
This means that our Club will not be able to participate in training or games until after 1 June 2020.
We understand that this continues to be a big disappointment, especially for our young players. However, we also acknowledge that this is an unprecedented situation and the importance of looking after our community off the field.
We must respect the game's decision and focus on doing our bit to stop the spread of COVID-19. Please be patient with us and the game's authorities as we navigate this ever changing situation.
At this time, we are proceeding as if the season will recommence in June. As such, we will still contact you about finalising registration, becoming accredited or applying for Blue Cards.
We have addressed a selection of Frequently Asked Questions below for your reference. As we receive more information and updates we will share this information with you.
Fingers crossed we can be back on the field in June.
Further updates on the season suspension of Community Rugby League will be posted here: www.playrugbyleague.com/covid-19
No, as per the directive from the QRL, we must discontinue all training. It is also important to remember that any adults or children, whether registered with the Club or not, are NOT protected by the Club's insurance for anything that happens during non-sanctioned training. Anyone organising non-sanctioned training could be held personally liable for any associated incidents or injuries.
The season suspension has been called to slow the spread of COVID-19. It is our social responsibility to limit non-essential gatherings. We strongly urge you to follow this directive. The sooner we stop the spread, the sooner we will get back on the field.
If a player, coach, volunteer, parent or sibling tests positive for COVID-19, please immediately notify the Club President on 0418 952 253. This is so that we can notify other members of the Club that may have had contact with the person that tested positive.
